“A Healthy Smile is a Happy Smile”

My Personal Philosophy:
As a registered dental hygienist, it is my responsibility to provide the best possible care for my patients. This includes performing oral cancer screenings on each patient and assessments before beginning treatment. I believe that the patient needs to take ownership of their mouth and be involved in their treatment. Developing relationships with patients is key to a good practice and good patient care.

My Purpose:
Growing up I always thought I would be a teacher. As life progressed, I found a passion in caring for others, which lead me to pursue dental hygiene. As a dental hygienist I am provided the opportunity to teach and care for other people. I love helping people learn about their oral health and work together with them to achieve a healthy smile.

Values:
-Integrity and Beneficence
-Hard Work and Team Work
-Continuing Professional Education
-Patient Education
-Compassionate and Comprehensive Patient Care

Short Term Career Goal:
I am seeking full-time employment as a dental hygienist. I have found through my school experiences that I love working with all patients, from children, to those with severe periodontal disease. Working in any dental office where I am helping patients achieve oral health is an environment in which I can thrive.

Long Term Career Goal:
After completing my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, I would like to be a lead hygienist in a large practice or possibly go into teaching. Either way, my end career goal will require a Bachelor’s degree, which will also help me in my goal to be a lifelong learner.
